National Picnic Month: Create The Perfect Picnic For Wild Birds
We have put together a guide for the perfect picnic for wild birds to celebrate National Picnic Month. Different species of birds enjoy different types of bird seed at different points throughout the year, so we appreciate that sometimes, it can be tough to keep on top of!
At Kennedy Wild Bird Foods we aim to make bird feeding easier, providing you with the finest quality tasty snacks and bird seed mixtures for a variety of wild and garden birds.
National Picnic Month: Bird Seed Mixes
Our bird seed mixes and blends are the result of 20 years of continuous research, meaning we have some of the best quality blended bird feeds on the market. They meet all the essential bird feeding requirements and are perfect for all-year bird feeding.
Bird seed mixes make the perfect picnic treat for a variety of birds.
Economy Wild Bird Seed
Starting with our Economy Will Bird Seed Mix as our top choice for National Picnic Day, as this is one of our number one sellers at Kennedy with 98% of our customers rating this blend 5 stars.
This mix is high in black sunflower seeds, and therefore high in protein.
The Economy Wild Bird Seed Mix consists of: Black sunflower (21%), kibbled maize, white millet, red millet, red dari, Whole wheat (less than 5%), and rapeseed oil.
Similar to our Economy Wild Bird Seed Mix, we also have our Superior Economy Wild Bird Seed, replacing black sunflower seeds for sunflower hearts, also a firm favourite snack amongst many bird species.

Won’t Grow Bird Seed
Want to offer the perfect treat this National Picnic Month but want to avoid the regrowth under the feeding station? The Won’t Grow Bird Seed mix is for you!
Made up of 60% bakery-grade sunflower hearts, This energy-rich mixture has been formulated to ensure no re-growth under your feeding station.
As birds pick through seed mixes to find their favourite snack, they often spill from seed feeders onto your lawns and flower beds. With the Won’t Grow Bird Seed mixture, all seeds and cereals are de-husked meaning that whatever is spilt, won’t be wasted or cause damage to your garden. With de-husked and de-hulled seeds, birds are more likely to eat it all, as opposed to sieving through to find the easiest snack to eat.
Suet Special Blend
Our suet pellets are ideal for year-round use, and birds love them, so why not try our Suet Special Blend this National Picnic Month!
There are a number of factors that make our suet so great:
- Packed full of high-calorie ingredients
- Can be used all year round
- No mess
Our Suet Special Blend consists of: Sunflower hearts (55%), mixed flavour suet pellets (mealworm, insect, fruit, berry) and peanut granules.
These mixes and blends are just to name a few of the top sellers at Kennedy. You can shop all Mixed Bird Seed here.
