Description

Bird peanuts Our economy peanuts for birds are red or pale skinned peanuts, size 50/60/70 nuts per ounce. Extra rich in essential oils, thus making an excellent food for all year feeding. They are suitable and liked by most species of birds including tits, finches, woodpeckers, starlings and many more. Suitable for feeding in hanging wire peanut feeders all year round. To avoid the chance of fledglings choking, avoid whole peanuts on bird tables, trays and ground feeders during nesting. Try also our wild bird peanut granules and split bird nuts.

Will they attract more birds to my garden?

If you are using peanuts as bird food for the first time, don’t be discouraged if you don’t get birds straight away. Just tell yourself it will be worth the wait when you see a variety of different birds visiting. Read our blog on how best to feed peanuts to birds. Adding economy peanuts for birds will be a welcome addition to your backyard buffet and you could see a whole host of new varieties of wildlife paying you a visit.

Why should you put out bird peanuts?

Peanuts are perfect for year round feeding but are especially welcome for wild birds in winter. Check here for winter feeding information. They are full of protein and fat that will help keep your garden birds and other wildlife healthy and strong no matter the season. Click here for more information on peanuts for wildlife. They are also abundant in the vitamins. Just like humans, bird’s need a full range of vitamins to stay in optimal health.

Are all Peanuts the same?

The short answer is no. Unfortunately, Aflatoxins are a family of toxins produced by certain fungi that can be found growing on them. If ingested, these toxins are incredibly harmful to all birds. Thankfully, you’ll be relieved to know that all our peanuts are certified as nil for detectable signs of aflatoxin. This means you can rest assured that they are completely safe for your birds to eat all year round. Always order from a specialist bird food supplier such as Kennedy wild bird food.   Don’t forget:

    The Birds are Happy!

Posted by David Knight on 5th Dec 2023

The split peanuts seem to be much more popular/manageable for the smaller birds and leave less mess and residue in the feeder. The packaging is very protective and the 8kg bags are easily stored and carried.
