Dogs should be fed more frequently in the initial stage of up to 6 months. However, their dietary needs shift in response to their health maintenance and energy requirements as they shift towards adulthood. Also, they are likely to develop diseases or be obese if appropriate dietary needs are not fulfilled. Here are some elements that complement the active lifestyle of the dogs.
- Dogs with higher activity levels may require more protein for muscle maintenance and repair.
- Active dogs often benefit from healthy fats for sustained energy.
- Carbohydrates provide energy, and active dogs may benefit from diets with moderate to high carbohydrate content.
- Dogs with more exercise or training will need to eat equally divided meals two to three times per day.
It is essential to determine whether your dog is primarily a working dog, highly active, moderately active, or primarily sedentary. Discuss these needs with a Veterinarian to assess your dog's specific needs based on their individual health, breed, age, and any underlying medical conditions.

Salters - perfect
Our two cockers thrive on this stuff - both very healthy working dogs with shiny coats. Our eldest struggled with grain, so we needed grain free and Salters Maintenance became their staple,
